IPA Review #22-30

IPA# 22: Man Beer

Date Consumed: ?

  • By Bull & Bush in Denver
  • 7.7% ABV
  • nitro pour (on tap at Oskar Blues brewery)
  • Cloudy
  • More bitter than hoppy: more like a hoppy lager than an IPA

IPA #23: R.I.P.L

Date consumed: ?

  • It’s a Rye India Pale Lager, so…maybe it doesn’t count for inclusion on this list?
  • 7% ABV
  • on tap at Rock Bottom Brewery in downtown Denver
  • I can definitely tell this is not an ale, but a lager
  • Rich & Brady
  • Hoppy but no bite
  • Smooth, almost sweet aftertaste

IPA #24: Stone IPA

Date consumed: ?

  • In a bomber, it tastes different (than on tap or in 12oz bottles): it’s richer in flavor
  • 6.9% ABV
  • very fizzy
  • Bitey and bitter

IPA #25: Vertex

Date consumed: ?

  • By Destihl in IL
  • 5.9% ABV
  • crisp, pleasantly bitter
  • Hops are apparent
  • On tap at Oskar Blues brewery

IPA #26: Insane Rush

Date consumed: ? (Same as #25)

  • By Bootstrap Brewery in Niwot
  • 7% ABV
  • very fizzy and crisp
  • Strong citrus flavor: lemony

IPA #27 was a duplicate entry. Sorry. I might have been drunk…

brewery dog likes FnG’s process.

IPA #28: Finkel and Garf’s IPA

Date consumed: ?

  • 6.5% ABV
  • in a 12oz can from the brewery
  • They say, “dry, citrus, aromatic,” and they’re right. Especially the aromatic bit: it’s almost perfumey.

IPA #29: Session IPA

Date consumed: ?

  • 10oz bottles
  • 5.1% ABV
  • almost lager-y in flavor
  • Welp, this is definitely a session. For suresies.

IPA #30: Dank Nugget

Date consumed: 4/4/15

  • On tap at Mountain Sun brewery
  • ABV: ?
  • Crisp, hoppy
  • Full-bodied yet not too rich to be very drinkable
  • Lighter in flavor than their FYIPA
